We’re a six-bedroom home in the heart of Little Italy — four bedrooms upstairs, two downstairs, six private travelers sharing the common spaces at any given time. It’s stylish and lived-in rather than sterile and hotel-like, the kind of place that feels warm the minute you walk in. Hosted by The Bougie Backpacker LLC, where the whole idea is hotel-quality location without the hotel-room vibe.

Your room is on the upper floor, with a queen-size bed, fresh linens and pillows, and natural daylight that keeps the space feeling calm and uncluttered. Central HVAC handles both cooling in summer and heating in winter from the same in-wall system — no clunky window units, no white noise machines required.

Your bedroom door has a smart keypad lock with a code that auto-locks behind you. No physical key to lose, no awkward handoffs, no worrying you left the room unlocked when you ran out for a coffee ☕.

Storage is a curtained closet nook with a hanging bar — a private space to stash your luggage and hang clothes out of sight, separated from the rest of the room by a curtain so the room itself stays clean and open.

The home has six on-site off-street parking spots — one per reservation, first-come on which spot you grab. ⭐ It’s the unicorn amenity for this neighborhood, and it means you can actually relax once you arrive instead of circling for thirty minutes. If you happen to bring a second car, that one will need to find street parking.

You’ll be sharing the common areas with up to five other guests in other private bedrooms. The full kitchen has fridge space, stove, oven, coffee setup ☕, cookware and utensils, and the essentials you’d want for cooking something simple between restaurant runs.

There’s one big shared living and dining area with a large couch and a dining table — a great spot to hang, work, or eat. The upstairs bathroom is shared by the four upstairs rooms; it’s where you’ll find the hair dryer, iron, and ironing board, all stocked for everyone’s use. There’s a washer and dryer in the house (BYOD — bring your own detergent, we don’t stock it). Wi-Fi is throughout the home.

The bathroom is also where you’ll find the hair dryer, iron, and ironing board — they live there so everyone can use them.

Self-check-in via door codes. The day of your arrival, we send you clear directions plus your code. You let yourself in whenever you arrive (after 4 PM); your keypad locks behind you each time you leave. No meeting strangers in driveways, no key drama.

We keep things low-touch on purpose. The whole idea of staying in a shared home (versus a hotel) is that you have privacy and space to do your own thing — we’re not the kind of host who knocks on your door to chat, and we’re not breathing down your neck.

🏡 ON-SITE ASSISTANT

Beyond the Airbnb app, we have an on-site assistant nearby who can help in person — questions about the room, neighborhood recommendations, anything that comes up during your stay. Send a message through the app and we’ll connect you with them. You’re not alone in a stranger’s house: there’s a real human within reach if you need one.

🌙 QUIET HOURS

Quiet hours are 11 PM to 8 AM, and we hold to them. Little Italy is a bar district, but the home itself is a sleep zone — if you’re here to go big at night, we’re probably not your spot. If you want deep sleep within stumbling distance of dinner, you’re in exactly the right place.

🚫 HOUSE RULES

No smoking anywhere on the property. No parties, no events. No pets. Maximum 2 guests in the room. It’s a shared home with other Airbnb guests, so we ask everyone to be respectful of each other — quiet hours, clean kitchen, normal house manners.

★ SECURITY

We have exterior cameras with floodlights covering the parking area, driveway, and outside spaces — for everyone’s safety. There are no cameras anywhere inside the home, including the common areas and certainly not inside your bedroom or any private space.

★ HEADS-UP ABOUT THE NEARBY AIRPORT

San Diego International Airport sits just a couple of miles from downtown, which means all of Little Italy — and most of downtown SD — is under the flight path. You’ll hear planes overhead during the day, especially around morning departures and evening arrivals. It’s the trade-off for being this walkable to everything (and this close to the airport when it’s time to fly home).

If you’re noise-sensitive, we keep complimentary earplugs in the room. Most guests find the daytime hum becomes background white noise quickly — it’s part of the rhythm of being downtown.

★ ACCESS NOTES (MOBILITY)

There are stairs up to the front door — not a single-level entry. There are also a few additional stairs going down to the lower-level rooms. Plan accordingly if you have heavy luggage or any mobility considerations.
